Animals
Welcome to my Animals Page!
When I graduated from college some years ago, I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Ecology. I said that I wanted to work with wildlife and then COVID hit and that went out the window. I also wasn’t really feeling the Ecology/Zoology field. The only jobs that were really hiring were ones to do with conservation and I am not a conservation kinda girl. Taking those courses in school made me feel like I was playing god. I wanted life to teach me about itself on its own terms so I thought about wildlife photogaphy. However! I do not like dealing with the mechanics of a camera. I can play around with Adobe programs all day, but I don’t want deal with the rules and artistic world of photography! I just wanna take pictures when I want and post them because I think they look good.
So that’s exactly what you’re gonna get on this page. Pictures of animals I’ve seen. Like I said though, don’t expect crazy majestic photos. Most of the time I only have my wonky iphone with me and occasionally my camera. And yes, that’s my cat on the left.
So whoever ends up here please do enjoy;)
Disclaimer: Do not pick up or feed wild animals. Do not try to pet a buffalo because it looks cute and fluffy. It could kill you. Do not try to pet and feed a stray cat that looks raggedy and dirty. It will get cozy in your home and then you’ve unintentionally become a cat parent.
Choose your battles wisely.
Shortcuts
As much as I’d like to force people to keep scrolling endlessly through this page of animals, I won’t do that. Here are the shortcuts to the different sections of this page.
Furry Companions
My sister’s dog getting his energy sucked out by a Skeksis.
My cat looking a little foolish with her big head and cute face.
North American Animals
These are animals I encountered on the land mass called North America (if any of you have heard of it). A truly beautiful chunk of land it is. You’ll see sum stick buggos in this amazingly long list. I have no idea where they’re native to and I know the worker at the museum told me, but I can’t remember nor do I feel like turning to google for answers. They look cool though so enjoy!

Pacific Island Animals
I say Pacific Islands, but all these photos are only from New Zealand. I wish I got a better picture of the Fantails because they were so gosh darn adorable. The way they’d fly around me was the prettiest/cutest thing ever. They made me feel special ( ˃̣̣̥⌓˂̣̣̥ ). Anyway, I plan to visit as many Pacific Islands as possible one day. That’s right I got my eye(s) on all of you tiny little islands (⊙_⊙).
Some Takahes
A Hedgehog
A Pukeko
A pheasant (?)
Yellow-Eyed Penguins
A flying Albatross
A very blurry Blue Penguin
Lazy Sea Lions
African Animals
Okay this section is going to be pretty sad especially with all the cool animals in Africa. I really would love to see a kudu because they look like some Hayao Miyazaki forest spirits. I know I’ll see one one day and get to visit more countries on mainland Africa, but it’s a pretty far continent! For now here’s a picture of a toad from Cape Verde:)
European Animals
I don’t think I’ve seen any animals endemic to European countries so far. I haven’t visited much of Europe either though so that could be a good reason for that. I’d like to visit Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, and Macedonia at some point. Romania because I feel people forget that they speak a romance language. Bulgaria because of the Vampire Diaries. Turkey because their food is to die for and they have such ancient history. Macedonia because it sounds like macadamia nut which I love.
Some Irish cows
An Irish black cat
Asian Animals
I’m going to include animals from east and southeast Asia here. I dream of one day seeing some blue-spotted mudskippers. The photo of the elephant was taken at a sanctuary that doesn’t allow elephant riding or any of that bs. I liked that they actually prioritized the elephant’s well-being so all we did was feed them and wash them in mud. Elephant hairs are really thick and a little gross when caked in mud…
A Gecko
